Centre Reps news

August 13th

All,

As per the discussion at our AGM earlier this year we agreed to move our centre AGM to October to bring it into line with National.

This will allow us to discuss proposals put forward that may change the way the club is run and for the Centre rep to take the opinions of the Centre members to the National AGM on 7th November.

I propose that Wednesday 20th October is set for this as it would normally be a club meeting night. If agreed by the committee I can obtain use of the Godstone Club committee room for this purpose.

If there are any issues you wish to be added to the agenda please advise a.s.a.p.

As usual ALL committee positions are available for any qualifying member to put themselves forward, including mine. So if anyone would like to assist on the committee, or take the role of Centre Rep for the coming year please let me know.  Please speak to myself or current committee members if you want more information about the role.

The positions and current holders are:

Centre Rep                    Alan John son

Deputy Centre Rep         Roy Roberts

Treasurer                       Jackie Murfitt

Event Co-ordinator          Paul Branscombe

Merchandiser                 Judy Lorraine Hewitt-Day

Webmaster                   Ian Thoburn

Newsletter Editor           Tracy Branscombe

Under the current constitution only members with a qualifying bike may stand for election to the Centre Rep role, although the rules do allow for that to be waived, subject to the agreement of the Executive, if no-one with a qualifying bike wishes to stand

In the event of more than one member standing for any position a vote will be taken on the night.

Members unable to attend will be allowed to vote by post by sending a sealed envelope to my address clearly marked “vsoc election, (member number)”  These envelopes will remain sealed until the Agm when they will be opened and counted. I will confirm receipt of these with the members concerned.

Members may also elect another member to act as their proxy, these instructions must be in writing either by letter or email.

Could current members of the committee please let me know if you are willing to stand for the coming year.

Thank you,

Regards,

Alan John son ( AJ )

C14 Rep.

Dear All,

Well, for better or worse I have been selected as your new Centre 14 Representative for the following year.

I should like to thank all who had the faith to back me for this roll and especially Anne for setting me on the right road to fulfilling it. I take the title as is, I am here to be “Your” Representative within the VSOC. If there are any issues you want me to take up on your behalf please do not hesitate to contact me.

I should also like to thank all those who have passed on their good wishes both within and outside our Centre.

I am looking forward to this years events around the country and abroad and hope to attend many of them, I look forward to seeing many of you there too.

We are all aware there is a “core” membership who make full use of every possible facet of Club membership, and others who we hardly ever see. I do not intend to tell any of you how to use your club membership, if you are happy to get your clatter magazine, appreciate the BMF affiliation and the advantages that brings, then that is fine with me, but if you ever get the inclination to join the rest of us for a ride out, rally, party or meeting at the Well House please do not hesitate. You will be made very welcome.

Thank you,

Alan Johnson (AJ)
