Ride with the Rockers

(Well in actual fact we didn’t ride WITH the rockers but rather TO the rockers.)

The runouts organised by Centre 14 are always well organised but sometimes they can be a little unpredictable. I suppose that is what makes them so good and jolly exciting ! This particular Sunday we were down to meet at Boxhill at 10:00 oclock and then cruise down to the New Forest for Lunch.
On arrival at Rykers café Colleen and I could see that the turnout was definitely split into two separate groups. One group still determined to
lunch in the New Forest and the other intent on joining the Rockers at Brighton for the Ace Café re-union run. Rapid decision making was called for (not something I am used to). I have been to the New Forest but never to Brighton with the Ace Café so quickly talked my partner into doing this instead.

The main convoy of bikes on the Ace Brighton run were leaving Epson shortly and would soon after pass through Dorking so we decided to leave smartish and avoid the rush. Through Horsham and down the A 24 before crossing to the A23 (some of us got separated and went a different route but we all met up on Marine Drive at the same time).

Marine Drive was packed with people and bikes of all types when we got there at about 11:00 o’clock. The area was only open to bikes and so we were soon parked up and strolling along next to the sea taking in all the activity and ogling the hardware (and software !).

Some had ridden down on brilliant restored beezers, triumphs, nortons tribsas etc
